Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fun & Educational Toy
I purchased this toy for my 5 1/2 year old son that has a real affinity with bugs. He loves it. It's pretty neat. They are not real slides. They are tiny photos that are magnified by the microscope, but that's fine for him. They are very clear. The only bummer is that I haven't seen any other slides you can buy that I know of. It only comes with 12, and after you are sick of those, it's toast. Other than that it's great. It's very educational. It gives them facts about each one, then they can take the quiz. As far as durability, well it's new, but so far so good. It's hard to find educational toys that he actually likes. So far, we love it.

Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Slides are not of real bugs
We bought this for a 5 year old and she enjoys it. Very durable. I was disappointed that the "prepared slides" are not of actual bugs - they're pictures of bugs - some of them very, very tiny pictures. For example, the bee picture is microscopic, so when the slide is put in the microscope, it's still smaller than a real bee.

I agree with other reviewers that additional slide sets would be nice - even if they don't have a "talk" code to go with them.

Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Buttons don't work from get go
This really IS a very cool toy. But today is the first time we used it and already the buttons don't work properly. I am going to write the company. In theory if this toy worked as it should I would give it kudos all around. The slides are durable and seem safe enough. The pictures are good and you can, like with any microscope adjust the clarity. There is a volume control on ours so that is also adjustable. It is just getting the buttons to work that is frustrating. From the get go they had my son frustrated and he gave up after a few minutes and walked away. While it was working however, he was facinated with the facts about the bugs. He still has a little trouble keeping one eye closed while looking into the view finder though. (He's 5) I will update this if the company helps us out by replacing the item with one where the buttons work better.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Science is FUN
This child's scope has realistic slides and audio to make the learning experience a fun time. There are bugs and other cool things to look at. The slides are sturdy and kid proof.. I would recommend this product. Our 5 year olds really likes this learning toy.

Newegg.com is offering the Plantronics Voyager 855, which pulls double duty as a Bluetooth headset and wireless stereo earbuds, for $57.99, shipped.

On paper, the Mio DigiWalker P550 looks to be an attractive gadget for the mobile professional, combining the capabilities of a PDA and GPS into one device. However, its poor battery life and subpar navigation skills tell a different story.

Though it won't appeal to the masses quite yet, the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet is a nice, portable device for on-the-go Web browsing, and it has some worthy upgrades.

Though it's expensive, the Sony VAIO VGN-TX670P delivers a great combination of business and entertainment features, long battery life, and unparalleled connectivity in an incredibly ultraportable package.
