Just as I had hoped
I am new to solar, mostly because those poorly lit blue tinted pathway lights you see in peoples yards leave me feeling cold. Well, I got the energy efficiency bug and as part of my energy downgrade I purchase two of these hybrid lights for either side of the garage door. The lights are metal and well constructed. The glass panels feel more like plastic to me than glass but that doesnt bother me. The bulb is 4 watts, but with those new energy saving bulbs the output is equal to 25 watts. The lights look just a little undersized compared to other garage lights. The instructions are pretty good however, they say to remove cover and switch to "on", but there is no switch in mine so I just put it back together. I am assuming they redesigned it , but if someone does find the switch e-mail me at [...]
A big concern for me, besides not loving solar lighting is that these are under the eves of my house and probably don't get much sun. Even though I don't think I'm getting all of the benefit from the solar panels I have to say that these lights are attractive and give off a clean white light. I honestly prefer them to the previous 60 watt bulbs I had there. The light is a little softer, but still bright and clean enough to illuminate the area.
I am pleased with these and would buy them again. My husband who was completely against these lights likes them just for their style and light output.
