Buyer Reviews

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Beautiful Moonlight in low ambient light areas!
I have two 4-light sets by Malibu as well. We live in a rural area where the night sky can get pretty dark. These 3-LED lights produce a blueish, moonlight cast and don't contribute any night sky pollution. We have 4 lights spaced about 10' apart and mounted on the outside of a deck railing, facing down so that it shines through the pickets and onto the floor, but also onto the ground around the deck, about 8' below.

We have another 4-light set in the horse barn, situated so that the aisle and stall doors are lit as well as two entrances. Beautiful as accent lighting, but great for finding you way through a dark barn.

I replaced the included batteries with panasonic ni-mh and they last all night.

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Solar pleasure
I use this set in my bedroom to accent light a ficus tree in the evening. They are tucked into the base with the spike attachments and aimed directly up into the tree. It looks very nice, the light is typical bright white/blue LED.

The 'solar collector' unit is in the window, getting about 5 hours of direct morning sun, and daylight the rest of the day.

You will find that if you plug in 2 of the spotlights instead of 3, they will be brighter. I only use the 2 lights, and even with the limited sunlight they stay on a good 8 hours. The lights dim gradually as the power is exhausted.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Good, Works Fine
It's solar, easy to install and it does its job. Good price. It's not as bright as those electric lights but for it works well for us who like no fuss lighting.

We'd love to have ones like this with amber colored lights. It works well in our garden.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Outstanding!
These are fantastic solar powered lights. I have had them for about 6 weeks now and I've really put them through their paces. I bought 3 sets from Amazon and two sets at WalMart, and will be buying more. I have find some awesome uses for these lights. You can easily disassemble the light and pull out the LED and reflector for use as you wish (indoor lighting, etc.). The solar panel provides enough charge to burn all through lights (3 LEDs each) all night and they're still burning bright come morning. My kids even use these as night-lights in their rooms just for fun. I primarily use the lights for providing lights for security cameras and such. These are not your typical solar powered landscaping lights. I don't know why they are as good as they are (I'm sure it's not intentional) but why look a gift horse in the mouth.

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
