Buyer Reviews
Average Buyer Rating: out of 5 stars

Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - the quality of the recorded sound is not good
the quality of the recorded sound is not good compared to old cassette recorder if you want to record, say, the piano songs your kid is playing

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Glenfiddich_Man
I really like this recorder. I put it in my front shirt pocket and it picks up conversations great. It is smaller than it appears in pictures. I'm a cop and it has already recorded an admission in the short time I have had it. It's turned into a world where people don't trust the cops, so I strike back with recording.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Works Great & Easy to use....
This Olympus VN-4100PC Digital Voice Recorder is real easy to use and
picks up voice and noises well. Its lightweight and plugging into the computer to download couldn't be any easier. I would recommend this product to any one wishing for a easy to use recorder.

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Most Excellent Recorder, but practically speaking ...
I am a writer of proposals and books. I am also a business coach, so I record people often. The VN-4100PC is an excellent recorder in my opinion. Whether I am on a noisy commuter bus or train and leaving voice notes for myself, in a large conference room (600 sq ft) recording meetings, or recording telephone conversations, the recording quality is quite impressive. I also really like the ability to transfer the files to my computer. From there it can be transferred to other, more useful formats.

My only complaint about the device isn't about the device at all, but its lack of protection. I have not been able to find a decent carrying case for it anywhere. There is nothing more frustrating than getting home at the end of the day, taking the recorder out of my pocket - shirt, slacks, or sport coat - and finding that I recorded hours of dead air because I accidentally brushed up against it and it started recording 3, 4, or more times in a day, sometimes for hours at a time. When the battery dies because the majority of recording time was useless dead air, that's really frustrating.

But like I said before, the VN-4100 PC is an excellent device, and which I would love to recommend highly. Now show me the carrying case and it will be a complete package.
