Better than most high-end fountain pens!
I am obsessed with finding the best pens. I have bought many types of fountain pens, even those costing over a hundred dollars in a quest for one that writes smoothly, has the right amount of resistance, distributes ink evenly, and can withstand being transported in a day planner without exploding.
These pens meet all my expectations and cost a fraction of others I have bought. They don't look elegant, but that is a small price to pay for a functional fountain pen.

One of a kind fountain pens
Simply put, these pens are amazing. They rival some of the best ball point pens I have ever used because they have such smooth writing. The thickness of a line is perfect and this pen provides a very consistent amount of ink (not runny). However, I would advise you to store the pen in an upright position (nib pointing up) because the other way makes slightly more ink to flow through. The ink dries up quickly and does not smear...the colors are very vivid as well. Also, I have used the pen for a while now and the ink has not runned out quickly. These pens are great for those who have expensive fountain pens but dont want to use them all the time. Plus, they get a lot of attention at school. Bottom line, these are outstanding quality and cheap pens.

More ink on hands than paper
I dont know what the problem was, but whenever I held the grip and wrote more than five words, ink would start to leak into my fingers, and smear around and coat my hand. I would not recommend these pens, spend the money and get quality pens.

Scratchy nib felts up the paper than clogs. Really unpleasant writing instrument.
I purchased this pen from Office Max on the recommendation of a sales associate who also writes with Sheaffer pens.
It was a waste of money, the nib is dryer than a Sheaffer when uncapped and the point is too fine that it scratches the paper and starts to felt and clog.
Fountain Pen nibs have to take on the characteristics of the owner by wearing down to the writing angles over time in order to truly break in.
The problem with this concept and this pen is by the time the nib has worn down to your writing angles.... it will be nearly out of ink.
Almost like obedience training a pet with congenital amnesia.
The barrel is as comfortable as any other non gelatin grip pen.
This pen doesn't offer any design advantages compared to a more expensive or vintage pen since it also has to be carried nib up at higher atmospheres when traveling by air and the nib still spits if it is dropped.
This pen may be suitable as an emergency backup if your primary FP runs dry, or you could just carry spare ink cartridges for your primary pen.
If you're buying this pen as a starter FP for yourself or as a gift, consider the inexpensive offerings from Sheaffer such as the $25 Javelin Sheaffer Javelin Cranberry Medium Point Fountain Pen - SH-93059 or even a Parker Vector.Parker Vector Deluxe Calligraphy Kit - 35979
