POS Scale
I bought this scale from Sams. Apparently there are two versions, the scale version that matches the instructions, and the version that doesn't match the instructions. I apparently got the latter of the two.
The on/off switch doesn't work. So I cannot turn the scale on. I'll have to go and exchange this. That being said, the lack of useful documentation only confuses the issue more. Royal should have some quality control, since they don't pay me to do it for them.

Poor Performance
I have had very poor service with this product. Bought one about 2 years ago and had problems off and on. Decided to give it another try and bought a new one in Jan. of this year. Could weigh 1 package and then it would never zero out and let me weigh another one. Thought it was just a lemon, so took it back to Sams and exchanged it for another one. Got it home, and could never get it to weigh even 1 package. Remote would finally go to zeros, but then when I placed a package on the scale, it would never weigh it.
Finally gave up and ordered another kind today and will take this one back and get my money back.

Great Scale Read The Manual
I picked up this scale at Sam's for only $48. I was so pleased that I went online to see what I could sell them for as I know it is worth so much more. I would have paid $100. The button to turn it on is not on the bottom, it is on the side under the word "Royal". I have mine plugged in the wall outlet and sitting on the floor about 6 feet from my desk. The handy read out display is sitting on my desk. When I want to use it I roll over to the scale and push the button from my chair. Not very hard at all, you can do it with one hand. It lights bright red when it is on, not hard to see at all. I also use it to weigh my fat cats as it goes to pounds and ounces. Again, read the manual and you will learn how to set it to a display other than pounds. It also states to use the electrical outlet to power the scale not the optional battery. Using the optional battery may cause the scale to not read correctly. The manual is all of 6 or 7 lines, not very difficult. This is a great product.

Pure frustration
Sometimes it works, and sometimes you have to try many times to get a weight. Accurate when it works. 9v battery receptacle won't release battery and is falling apart--wish it took AA batteries. Concept good--I like the remote, but just plain frustrating to use, if it decides to work that day. Digital remote works about a foot from the platform--also constantly have to reset the scale to get it to read. I am now looking for a better choice of scale--one that works and zeroes faster than 2 minutes--when it works.
