Editorial Product Review:Amazon.com Item Description:Removing wallpaper often ends up in removing part of the sheet rock or plaster. No matter how careful you are with the putty knife you’re going to do more damage than intended. For years contractors have relied on the power of steam to separate the paper from the surface and now that same power is available for the DIY’er in the Wagner 705 Electric Wallpaper Steamer. Simply place the 8-inch or 11-inch steam plate cover against the paper surface and viola, the paper practically peels itself. You can operate the Steamer for up to 1-1/4 hours on a single fill of the 1-gallon tank plus the 11-foot hose allows the user to move freely about the rooms without disturbing the tank.

Great Steamer !
I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this steamer but I have to say that it was money well spent.
I rented a steamer once and it was messy and cumbersome. This Wagner wasn't. It's small and easy to move around. I did a 12x12 room without having to refill it with water, and it worked like a champ.
I suggest buying this if you have more than one room to remove wallpaper. The previous owner of my house plastered the house with wallpaper for some unknown reason and now I can easily remove it with this Wagner steamer.

Review of Wagner 1G Wallpaper Steamer #705
I had never removed wallpaper before and I found the Wagner 1G Wallpaper Steamer very easy to use and my wallpaper was put up in the 80's. At first I was concern about dripping water from the steamer plate but was happy to find that there was very little dripping. I found that although it worked well with the top layer of the wallpaper still on, it was very easy with the top layer peeled off, which luckly for me was also easy to do. The 1G tank of water lasted a good hour and clean up of the equipment was easy; just empty the water out of the tank and wipe of the steamer plate with a paper towell. The only draw back that I found was that the steamer plate was sometimes too large for in between windows or other narrow areas. Although, you can order a narrower attachment, I used a chemical wallpaper remover for these areas. I recommend the Wagner 1G Wallpaper Steamer

Stop reading and buy it
Stop reading and buy it. This product works perfectly and is worth every penny.
It's better than chemicals. It's better than scrapers. It's better than pulling your hair out.
If you are removing a large amount of wallpaper, it's still going to be a chore, but this product will absolutely make it as painless as possible.

Steamer review
The Wagner wallpaper steamer works very well. I had some border that was installed with border adhesive and I could not get it off. This item made the removal a breeze. It does not harm the drywall amd works quite quickly. It takes a little to heat up. but once it does it's ready to go. An on/off switch would be nice to make it more convenient.
